Rocking in Gulf of Mexico

The long absence, the delayed posts about my travels, and grumpy nature for the past month or so. All these could be traced back to my current situation. Rocking in the Gulf of Mexico, 18hours (unsure of distance coz there's no signboards and too lazy to check out :P) off the coast. Working my ass off, in preparation for this "cruise".

The slow rocking of the vessel by the gentle sleep has some kind of rhythm to it. Slightly sleep inducing, sometimes offbalancing. Accompanying me and reminding me. Reminding me of the lapping waves and crystal clear waters...not in the middle of the sea... but of a white sandy beach somewhere. Been up for 16 hours now and still counting, waiting for welding and coating to be completed before we could throw something into the depths of the dark waters. Probably that's why I'm hallucinating about white sandy beach and crystal clear water perhaps even a pina colada or long island.

5 more days before heading back to port. In the mean time, I'll enjoy the free food, drinks, laundry and room service as well as tonnes of DVDs onboard when I'm not working.

Would perhaps load some pics of this trip sometime later. As for now, I'm just glad that the sea is calm and my work is progressing somewhat smoothly.
