Rain arrived in Houston on 25th April 2009, in the midst of Spring. I guess she brought the actual rain with her as well, coz it was raining cats and dogs for a couple of days after that. Lucky for us though, we managed to catch the beautiful display of wildflowers in some meadows around Houston.
There's not much attractions in Houston, that might be the reason why a beautiful wildflower sighting will attract hordes of people. Lucky for us though, traffic was light because it was a Sunday morning and most of the people are either in attending Sunday service or sleeping in. Thanks to some sightings posted on the net and a GPS, we managed to get some pretty isolated and beautiful fields of blooming bluebonnets (state flower of Texas). The location is around a small town slightly over 1 hour drive from Houston.
It's really a sight to behold where the entire field is covered with a blanket of blue dotted with a dash of red, pink or yellow.
1st sighting of "Rain" in US. :)
CY in the midst of blue.
The field completely carpeted with bluebonnets.

It's really pretty!!! I'm jealous!
My deepest condolences to the poor, poor flowers that were squashed by gigantic humanoids :P :P :P But truly, ye are beautiful...
witch: don't be ... it might look nice in a picture. The plants are actually quite prickly and sometimes we have to brave through ants too!
bamboo: i lost count how many of 'em were squashed under my large surface area!!!!
