Kittie encounter

It was a normal working day for me. I get myself prepared for work and when I was ready, I went to get my car which is parked downstairs of my apartment unit.

As usual, I took the same route to work. I didn't sense anything amiss until I heard some funny sound.. Meow...meow... I thought it was coming from the radio... probably some background music.. (who would use kittens meowing as background music??? I was giving excuse to myself to ignore it :p) I continued driving until I reached a traffic light which turned red before I make my right turn into the Jln Bukit Bintang. The meow meow sound is getting more intense and even cleared. I switched off the radio to make sure of the sound. OMG!!! Confirmed kitten meowing...

Once I reached the company car park, I got down the car and start searching for the kitten... The sound came from outside of the car.. I tried to look at the tyres. I was afraid it was trapped there and the rotation of the tyres will actually kill it.. Can't imagine my car full of kitten's blood... Eeew.. Finally, I found the kitten trapped in between the car front rear external casing, near the engine air intake way (if you own a MyVi, check the part near the plate number at the front part of your car) Really cannot understand why the kittie was there and how it actually got there..

I went to the office and get help from my colleague. So with the help of my colleague, we managed to get the kittens out of the car. To my horror, it was not one but two kittens were trapped there.. So, we just let the kitties go in the carpark. My colleague warned me that they might climb back onto my car since they will actually feel safe there compared to the new environment i.e. the carpark.

I felt relieved that they were now off my car..So, I continued with my busy day.. running errands for my boss...

Before I was ready to go home, I received a call from a colleague saying that she saw a kitten near my car.. I prayed hard the kittens will leave me alone.. I looked around my car, searching for those kittens just in case they were still roaming around my car.. I remembered I checked several times before I start my car to confirm that they were gone..

I was so happy that they were no longer on my car.. and start my way home.. just I was a few meters away from the carpark, I heard the familiar sound... meow meow.. Ha? Still on my car ah? Sigh... can't they just leave me alone.. I had got no choice but to continue my journey home since I was half way and there were cars behind me..

I continued driving and monitored the kittens meowing...until I reached a junction waiting for the traffic light to turn green.. where the meowing stopped... I tried to look for them when I reached home... searching at each and every corner of the car.. even opened the car boot. They were no where to be seen.. " I'm safe!!" But are they safe? Could they be killed on the road when they jumped off my car? Hope they are safe now... I don't want to be a kittie killer!

My '08 Winter Holiday! (Day 1)

It's about time I write something about the first winter holiday I ever had. Story of tropical small town boy meet snowy ski village.

My first encounter with snow is kind of special. As it is just the day before I went for a trip to Breckenridge, a ski village in Colorado. It was an eventful holiday. The holiday started with, a delayed flight and a lost luggage. Due to that, our arrival to the Breckenridge was somewhat delayed. All is not lost though as the brilliant trip planners have somehow factored these events and our first day was actually meant for some casual walk around and drive about.

We began our journey to Breckenridge from Denver after lunch. My first sight of the snow-capped mountains and evergreen lined slopes took my breath away. We stopped at a 7-11 in Frisco for a cuppa hot choc. The weather was just nice, fresh and crisp.

Yours truly in front of 7-11, Frisco

Love the snowy peaks! Even more when I'm up close & personal with it!

Even with the delays, grocery stops and hot choc stops we managed to reach Breckenridge just before nightfall. It was such a wonderful place to behold, quaint buildings, roofs topped with fluffy snow. Our lodging for 3 nights in this ski village is a 3 storeyed townhouse with a deck and hot tub as well as a cozy fireplace.

The neighbourhood of our lodging in Breckenridge. It's white fluffy snow all around!

The path from our unit leading to the garage.

The winter moon and the snowy path beside the townhouse.

Due to cold weather I have less time being a shutter bug (trembling fingers are not good at taking pictures in low light). On top of that, till today our group haven't manage to compile all the photos taken by the multitude of cameras. :(

Pissed Off!

Was buried with work throughout the entire Chinese New Year. The biggest celebration for the Chinese just went by without me noticing it. Although it's not my first time away from home during CNY, it's my first in a foreign land without any sign of CNY celebration at all!
All my previous experience of CNY away from home were during my Uni years where I had to stay back because I need to compensate for my lack of intelligence with hardwork in preparation for tests. However, I still manage to taste a piece of CNY through delicacies brought back for me by Rain.

My celebration of CNY this year was only marked by two small "makan" and a tummyache after one of them.

Well, that explains the long absence.

What am I pissed off about? Not CNY definitely. First, it's all the brou-ha-ha of the political scene back in my home state. Don't these fellas have better things to do? The economy is going down the drain, but the fellas are still playing the ostrich game of sticking heads into the sand assuming the problem will just vanish on its on. But then, who am I to say anything as I do not believe in politics at all. And the most recent events just re-affirmed my belief ( or rather disbelief) in politics.

The second thing is that my home trip will be delayed again. Sigh. According to schedule I was supposed to be home during Christmas. Due to work requirements, I had to stay and complete the work as the project is supposed to be installed early February. In January, I was told it'll be postponed to mid of February, dashing my hopes (and someone else's of course) of being back in February. By February, it was postponed again to end of February. Finally, this morning I got the news that it's most likely going to be in March. Really pengsan! There goes all my plans on having a hometrip in early March. I know Rain's probably feeling quite frustrated with all these postponement. Sigh... what to do? That's how my current work is going to be. On hindsight, I should've gone home during Xmas.

I'm crossing my fingers now hoping not to get pissed off by anything again in February! Too much surprises!
